26. Soft and Savage: You Don’t Have to Choose Between Success and Yourself
What happens when you’ve built the life you wanted, but you don’t feel fully alive inside it?
Recorded on a hike at Mount St. Francis, this episode of She Who Moves explores two parts of the high-performing woman: the savage who knows how to work hard, persevere, and create results (often times at the cost of herself, her relationships, her presence, her own aliveness), and the soft who wants presence, ease, rest, deep connection and spaciousness, and room to be fully herself.
We talk about high-performing self-abandonment: checking every box while quietly feeling that something is missing and arriving where you thought would make you happy, only to feel like a stranger to yourself.
We look at how the need to prove ourselves or be accepted can shape who we become—and why the habits that helped us succeed may not be the only way forward.
This isn’t an invitation to give up your ambition. It’s an invitation to bring more of yourself with you.
What might change if your business amplified your life instead of taking from it?
If you could be well paid and well seen for your gifts *and* present for the life you’ve created?
An invitation to reflect:
Where are you still forcing a result in your life or business?
What might the softer part of you be asking for, or inviting you to release/pivot/surrender/let go of?
